Connie's Journey

Connie's journey has been incredible to watch taking her from building her basics towards now getting her skills and pushing her to her first ever statics competition where she took home 3rd place!

Connie has put in the work and taken on the guidance and structure that I have given her as a coach and mentor to push to the next level. She has managed to achieve a variety of skills in such a short space of time which goes to show that when hard work and working smart come together it brings results.

I programmed Connie's sessions to get her ready for this competition and tailored it to her level focusing heavily on her individual skills and teaching her how to do combination movements to maximise points for her competition.

Because the correct methods and techniques were put in place Connie performed well under pressure in front of a large crowd of people and is now a competitor in the UK calisthenics scene.

Stuart's Journey

Stu's Journey of going from the south west regional championships to the UK national championships was an honour to be apart of. Stu put in the work even around a busy life with responsibilities like family and career he still made the effort and smashed his category.

The UKCO national championships were no easy feat, he was expected to perform as many reps of 48kg dips, 32kg pull and muscle ups as possible within a time frame. Originally when we started he was no where near these and was unsure on the approach to take in order to maximise for nationals.

So we started working towards the technique for the muscle up to get it to competition standard as well as progressively increasing the weight for the pull ups and dips.

Because of the programming and Stu being relentless in training it lead to an incredible performance by the time he got to nationals. Not only had he beaten his previous score but he had doubled it. He went from no 32kg pull ups to 2 clean reps, No muscle up to 1 clean one and 2 shaky 48kg dips to 5 clean ones for nationals.

If you are interested in more of Stu's journey you can follow his page on instagram @ska.cali for more!

As a coach I am extremely proud of Stu overcoming obstacles and committing himself to his training to not only beat the numbers but also level up

Dan's Journey

Dan's goal was to unlock tuck planche and get better at static floor work. Originally he was very reliant on the bands and this was holding him back. We focused on activations and proper technique to start with and form there started building his strength up and time under tension to get the bands off.

With other responsibilities like his degree and other commitments Dan put the work in and build up his time under tension to work towards his skills. He now has a understanding of how to progress to the higher level skills and push himself to the next level.

Dan has also built up his vertical pull strength again and also vertical push, working towards higher reps of pull ups and tuck front lever pull ups as well as gradually building strength towards his first freestanding handstand push up.

Dan is training to be a physio so if you want to see his journey and find out more about his progression you can visit his instagram page @thebalancelab_
